Zakyria Anastasi (Director/Psychologist)
Zak is an experienced Psychologist with a history of supporting children, adolescents and adults of all backgrounds. Zak likes to take a client centred approach to addressing the concerns of the individuals he sees, incorporating their interests, learning approach, personality and support networks into his therapy as much as the client wants.
Zak’s particular areas of interest include:
- Working with Neurodiversity, including Autism and ADHD.
- Working with schizophrenia and similar presentations.
- Disability, including adjustment to injury.
- Mood and Anxiety Disorders, including separation anxiety in children.
- Anger Management and Emotional Regulation.
- Parent and family support.
Zak draws upon his experience in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Behaviour Support and a Family Systems approach to inform his work. Zak is also an AHPRA Board-Approved Supervisor who enjoys supporting Provisional Psychologists on their journey in becoming registered Psychologists.
Zak sees clients on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and provides supervision on Wednesdays to Provisional Psychologists.
